In Britain they make a computer that costs $25.

The UK may soon surpass India, where a tablet computer costing about $45 was recently announced. A team of engineers from Cambridge promises to release a computer by the end of 2011 that will cost only $25.

We are talking, however, not about a tablet, but about a box, the dimensions in length and width not exceeding a business card. The screen will have to be connected to an external one – it can be a TV or computer monitor, and both digital and analog connections are supported. The Raspberry Pi will also have USB ports for a keyboard and mouse, as well as a socket for connecting a network cable or an external wireless adapter.

According to project manager David Braben, the first 10 thousand copies of the device will be sent to software developers in the coming months. The creators of the ultra-cheap computer hope they will develop programs for it. Currently, a computer using an ARM architecture chip as its central processor can use several Linux distributions as its operating system. Accordingly, many applications for this OS with open source software are also suitable for Raspberry. The initiators of the project hope that programmers will be able to write software more suitable for inexperienced users.

The developers intend to release a https://44acescasino.co.uk/games/ version of the Raspberry Pi designed for ordinary users next year. It is assumed that the main “target audience” of the new product will be schoolchildren. Braben notes that even in England, not all families still have a computer or telephone with advanced functions. A device that costs $25 will be affordable even to people with the most modest incomes.

in England you can buy equipment that is not cheap, but it can be better (learned from the show “Couldn’t Get Cooler”)

Well, why is it needed?? Tetris is even cooler, it has a screen and games at once)) ONLY for some people the Internet and achievements can be filed.

Unless it’s a dodgy calculator without a screen

It’s hard to believe that under capitalism someone still thinks not only about how to make money, but also about how to satisfy the needs of less wealthy citizens. It’s a very noble initiative, I think. Let’s see what comes of this.

Why? In essence, this is something like a set-top box that will mainly be used for office applications and, possibly, Tyrnet. It’s not even mobile. This is only if you are completely overwhelmed and don’t have enough for anything else, but urgently need to write an essay or some other trifle..
